Holly & George's Luxury Bathroom Renovation: From Botched to Bespoke

By Danny Kettle —

Luxury Bathroom Renovation Brief

Holly and George came to Future Innovations after a previous bathroom installation had gone wrong, leaving them with ongoing issues and a bathroom that fell short of the high-end finish they had originally envisioned.

Rather than continue repairing individual problems, they chose a complete luxury bathroom renovation. The existing bathroom was stripped back and the underlying issues addressed before the space was redesigned and rebuilt as a bespoke bathroom.

The renovation included large-format wall and floor tiling, a bespoke handmade double tiled sink, floating vanity storage, a walk-in shower, freestanding bath, wall-hung WC and integrated LED lighting. Every element was carefully considered to create a contemporary, high-end bathroom with a refined finish and practical day-to-day functionality.

A Bathroom Designed Around the Space

This was never going to be a simple refresh. The goal was to design a bathroom with real architectural presence — one built around bespoke fabrication, large-format tiling, floating sanitaryware, and carefully layered lighting.

At the heart of the finished space is a handmade double tiled sink, with warm LED lighting used throughout to highlight the floating elements, recessed niches, and clean, uninterrupted lines that define the room.

Key features at a glance:

  • Full bathroom strip-out and renovation
  • Bespoke handmade double tiled sink
  • Floating timber-effect vanity storage
  • Warm LED lighting beneath the sink and WC
  • Wall-hung WC with concealed cistern
  • Walk-in shower with minimal glass screen
  • Illuminated recessed shower niche
  • Freestanding bath with illuminated niche
  • Large-format stone-effect wall and floor tiling
  • Dark timber-effect tiled shower feature wall
  • Matt-black brassware and finishing details

The Details That Make the Difference

Because the original bathroom hadn’t been installed correctly, this project needed more than a cosmetic makeover. We stripped everything back to bare basics so the room could be properly assessed, prepared, and rebuilt from the ground up.

That gave us the chance to fix the issues hiding beneath the surface — and to build a bathroom that’s not just visually striking, but properly constructed from the foundations through to the final details.

The Bespoke Handmade Double Sink

The standout feature of this bathroom is its handmade double tiled sink, fabricated specifically for the space. Rather than fitting a conventional ceramic basin, we formed two individual basins within one seamless, floating tiled structure.

Every section was carefully measured, cut, and finished so the sink reads as part of the room’s architecture — not as a fixture that’s simply been dropped in. Wall-mounted matt-black taps keep the look minimal, while a floating timber-effect drawer unit underneath adds practical storage without breaking the open, airy feel.

Bespoke detail: The floating sink is lit from below with a concealed warm LED strip. At night, the light washes across the tiled floor, making the entire vanity appear to hover in the room.

Lighting as Part of the Design

Lighting wasn’t an afterthought here — it was treated as a core part of the design from the start. Warm, concealed LED strips were woven into the bathroom’s key architectural features, transforming the space when the softer evening lighting takes over.

  • LED strip beneath the floating handmade sink
  • LED lighting within the recessed shower niche
  • LED lighting within the bath-side niche
  • LED lighting beneath the wall-hung toilet
  • Illuminated mirror completing the layered scheme

Walk-In Shower & Feature Wall

The shower was designed as a generous walk-in enclosure with a minimal glass screen. A dark timber-effect tiled wall provides bold contrast against the lighter stone-effect tiles used across the rest of the room.

A long recessed niche was built directly into the shower wall and finished with concealed warm LED lighting. Matt-black controls, a rainfall shower head, and handset tie the whole space back to the taps and fittings elsewhere in the bathroom.

Freestanding Bath

Positioned beneath the window, a contemporary freestanding bath creates a second focal point in the room. Wall-mounted black bath controls keep the area clutter-free, and an illuminated recessed niche beside the bath echoes the detailing used in the shower — pulling the whole design together.

Wall-Hung WC

The WC was fitted on a concealed frame, hiding the cistern within the wall. The wall-hung design keeps more of the tiled floor on show and reinforces the “floating” theme that runs through the whole bathroom.

A concealed LED strip beneath the WC adds another layer of warm, low-level lighting, while the flush plate sits neatly integrated into the tiled wall for a clean, minimal finish.

The Result

What began as a project to correct a badly installed bathroom became a far more ambitious renovation. By rebuilding the space completely, Future Innovations was able to combine proper installation with bespoke fabrication and considered interior detailing.

The handmade double sink, floating elements, concealed lighting, and illuminated niches give the room its own distinct character, while the balance of stone and timber-effect finishes keeps the whole scheme feeling contemporary and warm.

The finished bathroom didn’t just fix what went wrong before. It gave Holly and George the high-quality, bespoke space they should have had from the very beginning — properly installed, carefully detailed, and designed entirely around them.
